D12 Total Body and DDP Yoga

DDPY Fitness was developed in 1998 by pro wrestler Diamond Dallas Page, with the guidance of Dr. Craig Aaron, a prominent sports chiropractor, trainer, and certified yoga instructor. This real-life workout allowed DDP to repair and rebuild after years of wrestling injuries, including a broken back. Later that same year, DDP made an epic comeback to the ring, earning the title of World Heavyweight Champion. The guy who entered pro wrestling as the oldest rookie in history continued into his late 50s!

His desire to help others take back ownership of their lives has given birth to an international movement with certified trainers in all parts of the world. Jennifer brings that training to South Florida, tying it into a comprehensive regimen of healthy eating, activity, and balanced lifestyle.

We’ll show you how mixing dynamic resistance into traditional yoga can result in a full cardio workout with no running, lifting, or jumping. We focus on strength, flexibility, and overall self-care. Most importantly, the goal is progress, not perfection.

I have never had a long-term weight problem. I’ve had times in my life when I was 10-20 pounds more than I should have been. Freshman year of college, after quitting smoking, post-partum. Some of those things happened more than once. I was always able to bounce back for the most part, but found that each time, back to normal was just a few pounds more than the last.

Medically I was still an “appropriate weight” but I didn’t feel that way. Despite adopting a healthy eating lifestyle and staying active with my kids, my body was missing something. That something was strength. It started slowly slipping away, but I thought maybe I was just getting older. I ignored it, until the day I couldn't participate in everything I wanted to with my kids. Suddenly I was ready to pay attention to what my body was telling me.

That's when my DDPY journey began. I had no doubt it would change my body. The biggest surprise was how it was changing my mind. I stopped thinking about weight, and started thinking about strength, flexibility, and longevity. I started seeing the total body picture. I was getting both physically and mentally stronger, and my confidence in myself and my abilities soared.

After a year of practicing DDPY, I suffered a setback. An accident resulting in spinal fractures got me off the mat for a while. Six weeks later I returned to the program determined to not only rebuild, but to get stronger than ever. It wasn't long after that I knew I wanted to help others do the same.

if you quit now...you'll end up right back where you first began, and when you first began you were desperate to be right where you are now...
