I am a wife and the mom of two amazing young men. My boys are involved in music, sports, and Scouting. In addition to work, those activities and our four fur babies amount to a pretty busy lifestyle!
Being present for my family is paramount. I used to believe that meant putting myself last. Somewhere along the way, I began to notice my body was missing something. It was strength. I accepted it as part of getting older, until the day I was sidelined from an activity with my oldest. Suddenly I was ready to pay attention to what my body was asking for.
I answered with DDPY. I decided to prioritize myself. I made the time and began regular workouts, and paid attention to what I was eating. I lost 25 pounds and got stronger every day. I had no doubt it would change my body. The biggest surprise was how it was changing my mind.
After a lifetime of thinking about weight and how I looked, my focus shifted to strength, flexibility, and longevity. I started seeing the total body picture. I was getting both physically and mentally stronger, and my confidence in myself and my abilities soared. I learned that showing up for yourself is showing up for your family.
After a year of practicing DDPY, I suffered a setback. An accident resulting in spinal fractures got me off the mat for a while. Six weeks later I returned to the program determined to not only rebuild, but to get stronger than ever. It wasn't long after that I knew I wanted to help others do the same.
I’ve since become a Level 2 DDPY Instructor and a Fast-Track Coach, and earned certifications in nutrition from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and in Bood Flow Restriction Training from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. This diverse training allows me to deliver results through plans rooted in both movement and science.
